Windows Step 1: Before setting up Before setting up your wireless print server, make sure the printer has been set up correctly. · · · · The toner or print cartridges are installed. Paper is loaded. Your printer is powered off and the power cord is unplugged from the wall receptacle. Your printer is ready to be installed. About the setup process Read all instructions before proceeding with setup. Before the printer can be connected to your wireless network, the print server must first be installed in the printer and configured for use on the network. Note: See the User's Guide on the MarkNet N8050 Utilities CD for alternate setup information. Step 2: Installing the print server Installing the internal wireless print server option card may vary depending on the printer. See the printer documentation, publications CD, or Web site for instructions on installing option cards. CAUTION: Make sure the printer is powered off and the power cord is unplugged before installing the wireless print server option card. Windows 1 Once the print server is installed, attach the antenna to the option card. Make sure to tighten the connector until the antenna is attached securely, as a loose connection can result in a poor wireless signal. Then, bend the joint until the antenna is pointing up. Note: Some printer configurations create space restrictions that may require the antenna be attached before installing the option card. Step 3: Connecting the USB cable 1 Replace any panel(s) or hardware that was removed. 2 Close all printer doors. 3 Turn the printer on. Connecting the USB cable 2 4 Connect the USB cable from your computer to the printer USB port. When the New Hardware Wizard appears, click Cancel. Step 4: Inserting the MarkNet N8050 Utilities CD Insert the MarkNet N8050 Utilities CD, and install the software. Click Install MarkNet N8050 Utilities to run the Wireless Setup Utility. Inserting the MarkNet N8050 Utilities CD 3 Follow the instructions on the computer screen. The Wizard Mode provides step-by-step instructions allowing users to set up and configure the print server using WEP and WPA Personal. The Advanced Mode gives users direct access to print server settings. Enterprise 802.1x users must select this mode. Once the Wireless Setup Utility has completed, disconnect the USB cable from the printer and your computer. Inserting the MarkNet N8050 Utilities CD 4 Step 5: Inserting the printer software CD Remove the MarkNet N8050 Utilities CD. Insert and run the printer drivers or printer software CD that came with the printer. Follow the Suggested > Network printer install path to complete the installation of the printer.
